Odyssey use case for Channel Partner Portal
A customer needed a Channel Partner Portal to manage information dissemination about upcoming products to the partners, and process channel partner requests for additional information.
An Odyssey project allowed authorized users of the primary organization to upload files and content directly into the system or provide links to the appropriate information. Channel Partners signed into the system and viewed this information. Some information was mandated public in nature by the SEC and available to anyone. Some information was gated to particular categories of Channel Partners, based on the Partner’s exact relationship with the organization. When information became obsolete or newer information became available, the project made the latest copies available and removed or archived the older information.
The Channel Partner could also use the site to request additional information. This kicked off a process of internal content generation and compilation by the organization Subject Matter Experts, and a review cycle for accuracy and audience suitability. The organization Subject Matter Experts would tag as the information as mandated public, restricted to channel partners in general, or restricted to the particular channel partner that had made the information request. The channel partner would then have access to the information they requested
