Knowledge Management and Data Security

A customer needed a Knowledge Management system to gate, organize, and republish a large mass of documents to the right audiences. An Odyssey KMS project allowed authorized users to upload files and content directly into the system or provide links to the appropriate information. Subject Matter Experts and Managers reviewed the content and determined if it was appropriate for general public consumption, or only to authorized channel partners. Once the content had been reviewed and approved, the files were published to a secure site. Where appropriate, Odyssey published the files to the public website. When files became obsolete or newer versions became available, the project made the latest copies available to the sites. If SMEs and Manager re-evaluated the content and found it unsuitable to the public, the workflow removed the copies of the documents from the public website.
