No Code vs RPANo Code vs RPA (Part 3)

With all the buzz around ChatGPT we decided to ask the engine “Why is No-Code better than RPA.” The latest version (GPT 4.0) gave us a significantly improved answer that we had to share.  BTW, if you missed our previous comparison please take a look at Part 1 and Part 2 here.

Why is No-Code better than RPA?

RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and low-code/no-code development are two different approaches to automating business processes. While RPA covers the problems and acts as a band-aid by mimicking the repetitive and routine human user interactions with other software systems, low-code/no-code can fix the issue at its core by rebuilding the inefficient business process in the first place⁴. This makes low-code/no-code the surgeons’ scalpel solving the intricate problems⁴. RPA is superficial, it is copy-pasting data and clicking buttons. RPA does this much faster than humans, but the problem isn’t who or what is doing the clicking, the problem is the bulky process⁵. Low-code/no-code development, on the other hand, allows organizations to build custom systems without hiring a developer or using off-the-shelf software². With point-and-click or pull-down menu interfaces, users can usually design and implement their individual or departmental systems in a few hours². Few, if any, programming skills are required². So while RPA can be useful for automating specific tasks, low-code/no-code development can provide a more comprehensive solution to business process automation.
